Simple, affordable, Open source - again.

When we created our first OpenFlow® switch we wanted to build a device that was small, affordable and easy to use to make it as simple as possible for you to learn about Software Defined Networking. Now we have taken that same philosophy a huge step forward and created the next generation of desktop OpenFlow® switches, the Zodiac GX.

You wanted more power so here is a dual-core 880Mhz processor and 256MB of RAM. Enough to support thousands of flow entries.

Faster network ports? How about 5 x 1 Gigabit ports with in-band controller support so you can use all of them for OpenFlow clients.

Better compatibility? It doesn't get much better for OpenFlow® compatibility than Linux and the latest version of Open vSwitch. Pretty much the standard that everything else is judge by.

And, we have put it all in a rugged steel case with an external power supply so there are no fans and no noise.

Web and SSH Administration

Use either the Luci based Web UI or traditional SSH access to configure and monitor the Zodiac GX. The Web UI provides not only configuration but access to real-time traffic, process and resource statistics.

Built using industry standard open source software so you are guaranteed to have the best support and compatibility. Based on a Linux OpenWRT build and utilizing the Buildroot configuration system we have made it as simple as possible for you to create your own versions of the firmware. The full source tree is available on Github for you to clone and explore.
